FreeSource Solar’s mission is to bring a financial solution to distressed areas by creating a bridge between the community and one of the most sought after resources in the world…Energy. There are many programs available to these communities that they don’t know exist or how to access them. We put the pieces together in a seamless manner to deliver the energy incentives to the communities. This uplifts the local businesses and business owners financially to help rebuild “Main Street”, and the community as a whole.

Bill Brudenell

Born and raised in Illinois, I’ve been a small business owner my entire professional life. I understand the challenges of trying to be an expert on every expense related to your business. For the past 20+ years, I have been an Energy Consultant with experience in Deregulated Energy and Solar. My professional purpose has been to explain the options available to my client and advise them on what makes the most financial sense.
Being involved in solar energy across Texas, California, and now my home state of Illinois, I've never been more excited to help businesses achieve their Energy Independence because financially solar makes the most sense. I look forward to speaking with you about how to make the most of the incentives, rebates, tax credits, and grants available to your business.
Josh Wakeman
Co-Founder
Josh Wakeman is an entrepreneur from small-town Iowa. Raised in Fredericksburg, the “dairy capital” of Iowa, his goal has always been to find innovative ways to help people. That’s why he graduated as a sports chiropractor from Palmer College of Chiropractic and ran a successful practice in Yorkville, IL. After a short amount of time though he realized that his true strength was in problem solving so he branched out as an entrepreneur.
Since that time, Josh has built multiple small businesses and mentored others to do the same. In 2022, he started applying his problem-solving skills to solar and now focuses on helping change families’ and businesses’ economic picture.
